One part of Beast Boy's depiction in the animated series that has garnered attention is his effort to form a connection with his team-mate, Raven, going so far as to make a decisive effort to get her to respond to his jokes. His comedic and innocent nature often plays off on Raven's more distant and harsh one, and certain episodes focus on building their friendship ("Spellbound" and "The Beast Within"). However, the producers have gone on record to say that this was not intended to be the basis for a romantic relationship- as some fans have hoped.

I don't see anything different going on from a little brother trying to get a reaction from his older sister... or a little cousin trying to get the attention of another cousin.

I just want every bb&Rae fan to understand that also.

There's no convincing them.
There are some people who insist that, once things settle down in the comic, Gar's going to come running back to the Titans because Raven is back, or Raven's going to go running off to join the Doom Patrol to be with Gar.
There's one shipping board I... lurk at... (mostly because I caught them openly bashing me and my antishipping views behind my back and called them out on it at another board). If you read what some of them say, they seem... delusional.

There's a word to describe their views. They seem so set with their opinions about Beast Boy&Raven, but there's something...completely unreal about the relationship happening...which makes them seem a little odd.

Wait... to say _how_ delusional...
Raven left the Titans during the "one year gap" in the comics. SOME of these people were convinced the reason she left was because she was pregnant. She ACTUALLY left because there was someone on the Titans trying to steal the disk containing Jericho's soul, which Raven used in combination with Brother Blood's "blood pool" to give Jericho a human body again.
NOW they're convinced that either Gar will come running back to the Titans now that Raven's back, or Raven will go rurnning to the Doom Patrol to be with Gar.

Which I support any BB&Rae bashing on this page, simply put, they are complete opposites and would never in the history of man get together (In a romantical way). Their just two characters that are completely not meant to be, and some 10 year olds who watch CN thought it would be cool. THAT IS THE ONLY FOUNDATION and cause of this sad idea.

Eh, no real opinion on it. But um..... you said you'd support bashing Rae&BB, yet you got on your brother for something that could barely be considered bashing another forum.....
Incoming "ON-TOPIC" post.

Their just two characters that are completely not meant to be, and some 10 year olds who watch CN thought it would be cool. THAT IS THE ONLY FOUNDATION and cause of this sad idea. As much as Geoff Johns refuses to admit it, I believe too that it is the sole reason to suddenly take two characters who have been in he same comic book on and off for 25 years together and have them "fall in love." Rather than "out and out bashing," I prefer to bring up the points that are unrefutable. Such as "there's just as much proof, if not more, for Gar having a relationship with Cyborg." I don't support it, but it's the truth. One thing I'm finding very amusing... a large number of ship fans are male. I tend to suspect that it's more of a "projection" thing - they secretly want Raven and, rather than create an "avatar" character (like I have at my website), they "project" themselves into Gar's position. Which is why the appearances of Jericho and Zatara are causing a panic. Another male is "invading their territory". Sad thing is, there's a ton of proof of potential for a relationship between Raven and Jericho from the past. There's also possible potential for a relationship with Zatara, but he's a bit too self-centered for anything to last.

;D It's not that I was getting on to him about the bashing, but I mentioned the topic was pointless because he was just complaining how they threatened to ban him. And he wass threatened to be banned because he was telling them at their forum that they sucked.
And along the lines of BB&R if thats the case I cant blame them, but the whole idea barely has any foundations or anything to back it up; other then a couple random things that happens in the show/comic. Yeah.

Somewhat scary in a way. Their delusional in a sort of cult-like way. I find it as a sickness, or a disease.

I went threw all twelve pages, and their best proof was that fans would think it would be good, or that it would be cute. All twelve pages were scary and made me want to cry. The pairing is like an abomination...in the sense that its just not meant to be or wont happen. Which may sound a little against it, but thats my view on it.
